The John U. Miller Memorial CROP Hunger Walk will take place in Albany on Sunday, May 5. The Walk begins at 1:30 at First Lutheran Church in Albany, with the choice of a one- or three-mile loop. ARC already has an online team registered with Kitt Jackson as the captain. Please see her if you wish to join the team or make a donation, or visit www.crophungerwalk.org/albanyny and then find our team name. Last year's walk raised $104,897, one-quarter of which came back to this area to support local food pantries and soup kitchens (including the Altamont and Guilderland food pantries).
The walk will take place at Fonda Fultonville Central School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are able to attend the event, please let Mandi Tooker know. Eric Tooker is a four-year-old Cystic Fibrosis (CF) superhero and has a long road ahead of him with this disease. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a debilitating disease that affects the lungs and GI system. There is no cure, but with help from donations the CF Foundation and pharmaceutical companies are able to do research and medical trials to help those with CF live a better life. That money also goes to many other things to help support those living with CF and their families.
Camp Fowler reminds you that some weeks are already full, so if your child wants to go to camp this summer, register now! Visit www.campfowler.org to register. Remember to apply to ARC's Benevolence Committee for assistance with camp fees. We will pay the $150 registration deposit for each camper from ARC.
ARC's People in Mission are planning a service week at Project Hospitality on Staten Island during the month of August. More information available soon.
